You now have the option of playing music during your White Elephant Online gift exchange.  You can setup your music at any time before or during your game.  If you chose to setup your music ahead of time, the platform will remember your selection and load it when you log back in to play your game.

 

Selecting your music 

There are several options when setting up your music selection: you can chose from pre-selected Spotify holiday playlists, you can listen to a custom Spotify playlist or album, or you can listen to our White Elephant Online playlist which does not require a Spotify login.

When you log in to White Elephant Online and navigate to your game screen, you will see a button on the right hand side to Setup Music:

 

When you click on the Setup Music button, you will see a popup with all of the options:

 

Pre-Selected Spotify Playlists

In order to select a Spotify playlist you must have a Spotify account.  You can follow the link on the popup window to login.  Note that if you do not login to a Spotify account you will only hear previews of the songs in the playlist.  You may need to refresh the game screen after you've successfully logged in to your Spotify account.

 

 

Once you've logged in, you can select any of the Spotify playlists from the popup window.  When you select a playlist, it will show with a black box around it.  Once you've made your selection, click the Save button in the top right hand corner.

 

 Once you click save, you will return to the game screen where you will see your music selection:

 

You can change your music at any time by clicking on the Change Music button at the top of the music widget.

 

 

 

Custom Spotify Playlist or Album

Follow the instructions above to login to your Spotify account.  Once you are logged in, navigate to any playlist or album.  Click on the three dots and then click on Share and Copy Link to Playlist.

 

In the Setup Music popup window, select Custom - Chose any Spotify Playlist.  A field will appear for you to paste in the link that you just copied from Spotify.  Once you paste in the link, click on the Save button in the top right hand corner.

 

 

You will see your selection in the music widget:

 

You can change your music at any time by clicking on the Change Music button at the top of the music widget.

 

 

 

White Elephant Online Playlist 

If you don't want to login to Spotify or you don't have an account, you can listen to our White Elephant Online playlist.

From the Setup Music popup window, scroll to the bottom of the window and select the White Elephant Online playlist.  Be sure to click the Save button in the top right hand corner.

 

 

Volume Control

For any of the Spotify playlists, you will control the volume of the music using your device volume controls. 

If you select the White Elephant Online playlist, you will see a separate volume slider at the bottom of the music widget which allows you to control the music volume independent of your device volume.

 

Playing the music through your video call

In order for your participants to hear the music, you'll need to 'share' it through your video call.  Here's how for a few major video conferencing providers:

 

Zoom

1. Click the "Share screen" button at the bottom of the Zoom meeting window
2. Click on the small "Share sound" checkbox at the bottom left of the sharing window
3. Click the "Share" button to share your screen + computer audio with the Zoom meeting

Teams

1. From your meeting controls, click on the Share content button
2.  Click the Include computer sound toggle on the top left of your sharing options
3. Note: When you share audio all audio from your computer (including notifications) will be included in the meeting

 

Google Meet

1. At the bottom of your meeting window, click Present now 
2. In order to share audio, you must share the "tab" with White Elephant Online (as opposed to your whole desktop).  When you share a tab, it will share that tab's audio by default. 
3. Click Share
